How to get the clients to easily connect to a private server would be nice to know too. Repeat: I'm mostly looking for suggestions and recommendations for Maps, settings and etc. Plenty of cover and sniping positions as well as opportunity for tactical play are greatly desired. CTF is also OK, but I'm not going to start there. Team play is preferred, but not required. The Maps must have high replay-ability value and should encourage games of 20min or less. This should be a fairly simple setup, close to the classic with no flying taks and not even an Overthruster in sight. No, the question I have is about Maps and settings and other thing to go in the conf.

We'll be using a combination of recent MacBooks and Windows laptops for the clients.Play will be over the connected Internet and we all have reasonable connections at home. The technical side I think I have covered, I have the bzfs compiled and available on a Linux cloud VM with enough bandwidth for the 8 or so players. I'd like to set up a private server for a few of my colleagues and I to play.

the empire came from overdoze and zigzag (aka sticks) from eria ziel. the current version has been modified by a collaboration work of bugsy, rio dj narrow, thrak and unclelightning. i'm sure i will have left out a few important ones. ^^ i still wanted to remember them and remind them to fellow oldtimers. also some of these maps have been popular for some time, never to be hosted again, so may not be rightfully counted among the most played maps or fit your other criteria. What else am I missing? Weren't there a few good rabbit hunt maps? Did Louman make any other maps with generally primitive shapes that were heavily played?Īs i'm not technical enough to differentiate, there will be numerous 2.x maps in the mix. Wild East Wild West (Dutchrai) (Source/inspiration map for Apocalypse in Action).was that a later revision of it? The version I see on the server list appears to use 1.x objects, but I don't know the progression of versions. I never played on it much, but I remember it being super colorful. Spiralzone (author?) Help me out with this one.Any contributions to this list would be appreciated. I have played since circa 2005, but I know the game has a history since even before that. While many kinds of maps could be listed, I especially want to capture maps that primarily use 1.x objects (basic boxes/pyramids/bases/teleporters), including maps that have a few limited mesh objects (like one-way doors) or have mesh shapes that could be represented by basic geometric volumes (at least in the physics, if not visually). I'm trying to compile a list of the most-played maps of all time and their authors.
